ProReports for MS Windows is a powerful and easy to use informationaccess and delivery system for enterprise-wide use. ProReports allows areport to be created on a client and run on any client or server. As aGUI tool, it is easy to use for the novice to the expert and itincorporates all of the features of both ad hoc and production reportwriters. It also allows powerful access and reporting on heterogeneousdatabase data plus other data, all in the same report.ProReports allows reports to be created on a client and run on any clientor server, and retain the identical formatting attributes, such as fonts,images, and layout. This gives organizations the ability to flexiblymatch their computing resources to their business needs. For example, acustomized telephone billing report can be created quickly and easily ona PC using ProReports for Windows, and sent to any server attached to aheavy duty printer that can print the thousands of pieces ofcorrespondence required overnight.ProReports is designed so that everybody in an organization from a simpleend user to a corporate developer can use the same tool to develop alltypes of ad hoc and production reports. ProReports' method for buildingreports means the beginning user does not have to know SQL or databasedesign, and intuitively walks the user through the querying and reportgenerating processes. For the beginner to the expert, ProReports'powerful and sophisticated ad hoc querying and reporting capabilitiesallow users to quickly and easily slice and dice data in innumerable waysto unearth valuable information and to create presentation-qualityreports.ProReports also allows users to perform multiple queries on heterogeneousdata sources all in the same report. Plus, it allows users to performoperations on the results of those queries, and these results can thenalso be incorporated in the same report. For example, with a few clicks of a mouse, a usercan combine manufacturing data from ORACLE, purchasing information fromDB2, and forecasting information from Microsoft ACCESS all in the samereport. ProReports allows all levels of users to do these many longdesired operations without heavy 4GL programming and with the ease of aGUI-based tool.Data sources accessible natively include: DB2 (all members), INFORMIX,INGRES, MS SQL Server, ORACLE, Rdb/VMS, and SYBASE. Middleware access isoffered through EDA/SQL, SequeLink, and any ODBC source to databases suchas Watcom, Paradox, Microsoft Access, dBASE, and more. Client platformsinclude: Microsoft Windows 3.1 and NT on SunOS(TM), Solaris(R), HP andRS/6. Server support includes: the SunOS(TM) and Solaris(TM)platforms, HP, RS/6, and VAX/VMS.
